One of the quiet joys of life at RoVer's Roost is how much there is to notice, if you slow down enough to look. Resident Anita walks the park regularly with her camera in hand, and has a knack for catching the desert at its best — a hawk overhead, a jackrabbit at dusk, wildflowers after a rare rain, a sky doing something spectacular over the mountains.
This page is where we'll share what she finds — a photo, and a bit about what she saw and where. Check back often; we'll be adding new sightings as Anita shares them.
Anita Allen is a retired wildlife biologist with 40 years of experience in habitat restoration, environmental compliance, and environmental education. She currently volunteers as a seasonal park ranger in national parks throughout the country when she's not at RoVer's Roost.
Her dog Charlie assists as a bark ranger and as an expert finder of snakes and tortoises.
